Creating a Workflow and Uploading Data

Step 1. Create New Workflow

This is where you will enter your survey details.

Survey Name

This will be the name of your survey that will show up in your dashboard so make sure to pick a good name.

Status

Select if your workflow is still in progress (Pending) or if you are finished with it (Completed).

Create Date

This date will default to the current date but you can always change it if needed.

Step 2. Upload Data

You have multiple options to upload your survey data. You can import the CSV/Excel file or use our survey software API's.

Option 1: Upload a CSV or Excel file

You can either drag the file in or use the browse files button to select your file.

Option 2: Import data using our API's

You can import your survey data straight from the survey software on select platforms. If available, select the survey software you would like to import the data from. There are some configuration steps you need to do first which you can find videos for here.

Upload Data Options

The upload data screen has a few options to assist in the data prep step.

VZ Autofill (Qualtrics Only)

You can apply VZ Autofill here or in the Prep step. VZ Autofill applies logic to streamline the data prep step. If your survey software provider is listed select their logo to apply our logic which will save you a lot of time on the next step. If you do not want to use our logic or do not see your provider on the list select Don't Apply to skip this step. Some survey software has special instructions to follow before you upload the data so read the VZ Autofill Article first to see if there are any additional instructions.

Resp ID Action

This action will add a distinct number for each row that you can use as a respondent ID if your survey data does not include one. VizualSurvey needs a distinct ID for each row in your data so if you don't have one then use this option.
