Refreshing and Update Survey Data in Dashboards

Step 1. Export Updated Data From VizualSurvey to SQL Database

If you want the changes you did in VizualSurvey to reflect in the dashboard you will first need to export the template data again. This will update the database will all the new changes, it will send you an email once the data is ready.

Step 2.  Update Data in Tableau Workbook

If using Tableau Desktop you can update the data by going to Data --> Refresh all Extracts. It will probably ask you for the SQL password which was given to you during onboarding. The data should now be updated and you can republish the dashboard to Tableau Online or analyze it on your desktop.

Tableau Online Option - Update Data in Tableau Workbook

If your dashboard is already on Tableau Online then you can update it through the portal.

  1. Click on the Workbook you want to update
  2. Click on Data Sources
  3. Click the 3 dot icon and click Refresh Extracts Now and Full Refresh
  4. Wait for a few minutes for the data to update, you can refresh your page to see if the Last refreshed time has changed
  5. Go to Views and click on your dashboard
  6. If your data is not updated click on the refresh button so your dashboard can refresh with the new extract
